End of Year 2017

I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and a good 2017. I would not have made it through this past year without God's help. My husband died in March and my mother had three cancer operations for which I traveled to Ohio. As her only child, I felt I needed to be there for her. However, she is doing pretty well for being 86 and living still in her own house.

I have my own home in Michigan and would like to stay here. I've been in the house for 28 years and had come to Muskegon 37 years ago as of the first week of January. I came as a USDA meat inspector of all things. I had used my veterinary degree in other capacities but hadn't found the right niche. I did the USDA job for about 6 years, then quit veterinary work for good in order to write and I eventually got married. I also worked in church-related agencies and did a lot of volunteering in social concerns.

Forgive my rambling but I guess the last week of the year is often a time for reflection and reminiscing. May you greet the 2018 New Year with hope and strength from the Lord, and may He bring you ever closer to Himself.
